随着大量蛋白质组数据的大量产生,如何将它们与已有的蛋白质的注释信息整合起来,建立一个可以包含各种格式的文件并能有效对他们进行管理的系统,是一个富有挑战性的工作。
本文介绍了一个刚开发出来的系统BioBuilder,它能让生物学家快速的建立自己的个性化数据库,把各种试验里的信息整合进去。数据的输入,检索和编辑都能通过一个网络浏览器方便的进行,使不是很懂计算机的生物工作者都很很方便的操作。这些数据可以通过XML-RPC网络服务或者是蛋白质标准原始互作数据格式(proteomics standards initiative molecular interaction (PSI-MI))进行操作。BioBuilder已经成功地运用到构建一个人蛋白数据库的工程中,即Human Protein Reference Database (HPRD)。
